Overview:
The growing popularity of high-definition video and desire for fast streaming and file transfers is driving the need for higher data throughput for WLAN. This web seminar provides an introduction to the new IEEE 802.11ac standard that is under development to address the need for “very high throughput.” Some of the design and test challenges that R&D and test engineers may face as they implement the new features in this standard will also be discussed, and some measurement solutions will be presented.

The Presenter: Mirin Lew
Mirin Lew is an Applications Specialist for the Microwave and Communications Division of Agilent Technologies, focusing on product planning and marketing of signal generation software and solutions for wireless connectivity markets. For the past few years, Mirin has been responsible for defining, marketing, and supporting products for WLAN, WiMAX, fading channel emulation, and GPS. Since joining Hewlett-Packard/Agilent Technologies in 1987, Mirin has had a variety of marketing roles related to network analyzer, signal generator, and signal analyzer products. Mirin earned a B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of California at Davis and an M.S. in electrical engineering from Stanford University.
