With increasing deployment of LTE, and with ever-increasing demands for hi-data throughput, we are witnessing faster transition to an all IP based network. While mobile applications continue to dominate demands on the mobile infrastructure, legacy traffic such as voice and services will provide fresh challenges in extracting deterministic performance from an IP based backbone provided by LTE.
The new demands on end-to-end IP data performance will require frequent fallbacks from packet to circuit switched mechanisms, and added complexity in handovers between LTE and 2G/3G/3.5G.
This web seminar will discuss the challenges for mobile device developers in transporting voice on packet based networks, the relevance and evolution of VoLTE technologies, and the dependencies on handovers for achieving robust performance. It will also provide insights on testing needs and solutions from Agilent.

THE PRESENTER: SANDY FRASER
Sandy Fraser is a 25-year veteran of the RF and Microwave industry with expertise spanning DC to 100GHz applied to such diverse technologies as space and military products and Infrared. Sandy’s career includes over 15 years of experience with a cellular radio focus. During the last twelve years with Agilent Technologies, Sandy has focused on base station emulators for manufacturing test systems including the 8922 and the E5515. Today he is a leader in LTE technology awareness and training, specializing in LTE protocol and signaling. Sandy is a well published author and his papers and presentations are appreciated by a global audience. He holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from Glasgow University.
